guys, I'm gonna start a website where visitors can download paid files for free.
I read some articles about the method and PPD sites are not very user-friendly I think. (slow download speed, asking emails and other stuff)

I guess locking my download files is a good way. But I have 0 experience in this.

I want your suggestions and any tips on this, please.

Basically best file locking service for a beginner. Instant approval services.

Also what other methods I can use to monetize my website. I'll place some display ads when I get some visitors.

you can make a free blog with this purpose, with blogger or google sites

content locking affiliate networks worth looking into: cpagrip, ogads, cpabuild.
you can probably use affpaying.com to find more.
I don't trust that affpaying site just look at the fake reviews the network owners post on that site

You can use regular content lockers like OGads & CPAbuild. Add code to a button (like Unlock or Download), and when users complete the action, redirect them to file download. When users find your site to be genuine, they don't mind doing CPA stuff.

Payed memberships for more then 1 download at a time and speed penalty for Free Users (and a GB Limit per day/week/month)

If you haven't already done so, you might want to look into content lockers or some sort of survey website.

Another way you can monetize your traffic is to sell the data of your users.

Basically, data on online user behavior of the people who go through your site and download many files could be worth something to somebody.

It also depends on what kind of files people normally go to your file download site for.

Some download services tend to develop a reputation for containing certain types of files.

Suppose you get branded early on as a source of warez or cracked software.

In that case, your range of monetization options will be different than if people go to your site to share stuff they created.

I hope you see where I'm coming from.

The good news is as long as you have the traffic, some programs will be available for you.

It can be a roundabout way, like a CPA that is layered on top of each other or something that is more upfront and direct.

The key is to bring a lot of traffic to the table, and you'd be surprised with how many of these affiliate programs would want to talk to you to cut a special deal.
