What would be the best way to get my business out into the community? I only do work locally so i dont need to reach anyone globally. My business is going to people homes or businesses and fixing their computers, or picking up their computers and fixing them and returning. What are my best options? Yellow pages, google, facebook, craigslist? Would appreciate any advice.

You need to spread your marketing so that you find whats best for you.
I recently hired someone like yourself from a facebook group. So search for local business or advertising groups to join.
Another way I have hired your services is from networking in person so that you meet with people that they will have trust in you when they get to know you.
Are you at the top of Google for your local area?
Also I have hired people in your line of work from businesses I trust who recommend your services. Like ink supply shops, office supplies ect. So see who you can go and meet in your local area to introduce yourself.
    Good luck

Local business submissions and SEO. Find out what local keywords you can target. "Seattle computer repair" "Boston computer repair" etc. Dive into social media marketing as well. Facebook and Twitter can be excellent branding tools for a local business.

Ranking for local keywords and having a Google Places business listing would help too. If you really are feeling ambitious, go to several stores and ask if you can put up a flyer in their store. You can also try direct mail. I believe there was a thread about it on here.

ok buy your keyword domain for your area. and start promoting it for the local keywords. also create a few youtube videos focusing on the same keywords, the import thing is to have your service name and city in there. build small quality links and bookmark the hell out of it. that's phase 1. while your waiting for that to work. print up some colorful flyers with your services and info in them, them have some kid form Craigslist pass the flyers out for 10 bucks an hour or 50 bucks a day., put a nice call to action, and do something like a free virus scan with every service or some shit. also build citations for your website or have it outsourced to fiver.. the whole thing should cost you around a hundred bucks or so, but your will be off to a great start.

In my opinion first step would be creating a Facebook page and focus mainly on local classifieds to start
