Best Justification for extra IP's from Hosting Co?

G'day fellow Blackhatters/ Marketing Wiz's

I'm about to buy a VPS that I plan to setup around 50 private proxies on for my own use.

My question to those that have done similar or are employed in the hosting industry is this....

What sort of justification/reasons have YOU found the most acceptable to ICANN on the 'IP Justification Form'.

ie: I need extra IP's for:

1. SEO purposes - I need to host multiple keyword rich blogs on different IP's for backlinking purposes.

2. I need to host Premium Client sites with an option for a private SSL certificate.

3. I will be implementing a Virtual Private Network for our company of 50 employees.


I tend to favor the 'SEO Purposes' reason myself.

What do you think?

I'd appreciate anyone with an informed opinion chiming in...

These usualy work for a smaller number of IPs:
* Nameservers
* SSL certificates
* VPS

I can't quite grasp your meaning...

SEO isn't an ICANN....

And what's an IPV4? Is that the tech term for the justification form?

its what i use to get full C blocks.. worst case they ask for the list of domains. reg 250 .infos, get free ssl w/ them @ namecheap

IPV4 stands for IP Version 4. IPV4 is what is currently used by the vast majority of ISPs and webhosts, an IPV4 is something like 192.168.1.100

I believe he meanse that SEO isnt a valid reason for IP Address justification from ARIN which controls the leasing of IP space, ICANN has nothing to do with IPs.

one thing IANA flat out won't refuse in the justification is SSL. say you're reselling hosting, if they ask for a domain list, see my other post upthread

SSL and nameserver IP addresses always worked when I was in the hosting biz.
If anyone asked me for IPs just for SEO I always turned them down (yes, I was a nasty twat!)

The SSL route can be kinda tricky though, because a lot of the time, they want to see the sites up, or at least 80% of the IPs used for SSL websites up. Option 3, in my mind, is a better solution.

Thanks Voasi.

As it turns out this is the option I have chosen to go with as my host would require either SSL certs with them for the requested IP's or fairly solid documentation from another supplier of SSL's for the same.
