I tried searching on the forum but no luck. For any of you who have experiences in promoting hosting affiliate programs. Which one do you like best?

I personally use hostgator myself for my websites but I've heard horror stories about them not paying their affiliates. Should I be worried? or should i go for other alternatives?

(i'm thinking about using some pretty whitehat techinques to promote it)

Dreamhost has always paid me exactly when they said they would, and have never shaved any earnings. ThinkHost is pretty good too, but I'm still in the testing phase with them so will hold my opinion for now.

$97 is the max they pay, you can offer discounts that come off that amount as a special/sale.. I signed up with them as an affiliate and promoted their links, and used the payout to pay for the server.. and continue to do so.

As for requirements, I just checked the site and they don't seem to have a signup form anymore, so it appears you may need to be a customer to be an affiliate now, as the aff links section is still there in my cpanel (just checked)...

I have had a few experiences myself. Didn't get paid until more than 6 months later and many many emails. Hostgator however is OK if the stats show in CJ.

I find that there are many cases where I did not even know that people purchased until I heard from them so that is another problem. However, when I asked the hosting company, they paid but it just took so much work. What about those I didn't know about? Better to promote those on CJ.
