So i am currently looking to transfer schools and change my major to graphic design/web design. I would appreciate any input and advice from people that have gone down this road before and how their experience was. I have been going to Montana State and gotten most of my core credits out of the way and decided that graphic design is my passion that i will major in. Just trying to get some input and do some research on different schools at this point, gettin the ball rolling. so if you have a experience in these fields your comments are appreciated.

ive gotten some mixed feedback about full sail. it looks pretty good but they are also extremely profit and advertising focused it seems which raises some red flags. i do really like the online study option though....

can't speak for the web design course or anything, but my best friend and a few of his friends liked the school, he did 3d animation and others did lighting, video game creation or something and some other stuff. it is expensive but he thought it was worth it i believe. keep in mind its also accelerated, 2 yrs for 4 yr degree and such.

Look at what the school specializes in and then see which school is a better fit. FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising specializes in the fashion and entertainment industries so you may like that school's graphic design program.

im stuck on from an employers standpoint what would look better, a four year traditional university that offers that as a major, or a school like the art institutes or something along those lines....

    dont go to art school

get a job for a BIG media company - with lots of employees and gurus.

tell them you'll work for cheap

show up and learn as much as you can

make your own blog (online portfolio) about graphics and use this as your "ever evolving resume"

put all of your drawings on your blog and continually work to get better.
