Best Free Forum/Messageboard Software? PHPbb?

    I've used PHPbb in the past and wondering if there's any others you'd recommend to produce a messageboard/forum on my site.

    Ideally, it will be very user friendly and having the facility for Adsense to be added would be a nice bonus.

    I recommend you MyBB. It's complately free and very useful.

    Thanks for the recommendation, I'll keep it in mind for sure.

    I plan to have 1000s coming to the board, so I need something that's very easy to moderate too... such as, moving threads, banning users etc.

    You posted as I was replying to the poster further up, but that's what I used the last time I uploaded a forum too.

    I'll have to look into the features. Adsense and great mod usability is a must.

    Loads of mods for phpbb and the admin side is easy.

    Any idea if it supports Adsense as it's been a couple of years since I used it.

    I have worked with most of the popular forum platforms and I would go with mybb from the free ones. It is very user friendly and easy to manage/modify/etc. I actually have a decent sized forum running on it at the moment.
