Hi, I need to buy a large bunch of .com/.net/.org domains (500+) + I need whois privacy for all of those.

I'm looking for the best price/service around, any suggestion?

    Tnx,
    Fab.

I would suggest namecheap and internet.bs. Namesilo is another not so well known registrar and is very cheap with coupons.

Namecheap. Free whois protection on the first year, and once you're over 50 domains in your portfolio you qualify for the permanent "GOLD DEAL" coupon.

+1 for Namecheap. Don't forget to talk to their support directly for a better bulk deal.

namecheap isnt as cheap as godaddy but since you also need whois privacy which is expensive at godaddy then go with namecheap

For fab's situation, do you guys recommend using namecheap's reseller hosting or just individual hosting plans for each domain?

I would go with dynadot..with 500+ domains you get a better pricing and also API access, so you can try to catch some expiring domains with simple script. You can find some real gems, but sure, most of them are 2-3 word domains, but still good imo. The also provide some kind of "tasting" with few extensions, so you can buyit, try it for few days and than drop it and get your money back.

One option to look at is godaddy with a discount domain club membership. For that quantity of domains, you'd get a pretty good deal with their membership (flame away about godaddy if you wish, but price-wise this could be a very competitive option). And the whois privacy is free for the first year with that many names.
