Hello,

What's the best TLD if you wan't to target all the Spanish countries with a priority for Spain (content will be the same independently of the country).

Easy option : website.es with hosting in Spain

Option 2 : website.com (for spain) + website.com/mx/ + website.com/co/ + etc. (with hreflangs tags)

Option 3 : website.es (host in Spain) + website.com (host in Latin America)

Other options?

Thanks.

Have you any interest in setting geo local versions of the website knowing the content would be the same ?

You could go with a .com website with language ES but worldwide location. With this setup you do not have to manage multilingual stuff like href lang. For me it's much more easy to manage later.

A part of that you could also really need (for SEO or othe reasons) to setup a local strategy and separate countries... in that case .com/mx sounds much better than .es/mx for me, but technically both should work perfectly fine.

About SEO, one could ask himself: Am I going to rank on https://www.google.com.mx the same way with an .es domain and with a .com domain ? Every Google declaration on that point let us think that both are supposed to work the same way and so one could go with the .es. But regardless of what Google says, I sleep better with a .com. In general it sounds better for me.

Seems good to me also. So you won't define a specific country in GSC and host the website outside Spain/Latin America also?

Option #3 seems to be reasonable in terms of development and marketing, but require a bigger budget?

Kind of 20/30% more for the content (integrate again + proofread) and double work for the backlink, I think.

Maybe not worthy for my project (small untapped niche with 150 articles~)
