I am trying to build a good, solid first tier, and so far I have several web 2.0s, some social bookmarks, forum profiles and now I want to post to some article directories.

I am creating manual, quality content for all my first tier, so I need some which will give me plenty of link juice if I do add quality content .. any ideas?

Also, what other types of links can I create for my first tier?

    Thanks:cool:

If you want to go white hat - anything PR4 or above is a pretty good target still. That means the top 20 directories or so around the place. Top 10 are always fairly stable. Bottom 10 (of this 20 list) are still worth it but are less stable. Expect 3 or 4 out of this 20 at any stage be playing up.

Some PR 3's outside the top 20 are worth it. Anything below PR 3 will be too unstable and too young. They are yet to be backhanded by the SE. Well moderated quality sites like those in the link above by firethewild are the best picks.

I think the fact is that not many here actually do much HQ article posting and if they do they aren't up on the latest "hot" sites, as EVERY thread that asks this gets either no answers or very outdated answers.

Would anyone be interested if I started a fresh article directory that accepts only 100% unique content? As the network expands, ranks, and grows it will only add more authority for everyone who receives links. If anyone is seriously interested, I'll definitely set one up for us here. I know there was supposed to be a large group of people doing it, but it seems as if it migrated to JR. VIP only.

Is it worth manually submitting articles to high PR, non-spammed article directories?

This actually wouldn't be a bad idea, I might do it myself along with a few others to manually review articles prior to publishing. With the amount of content that would be generated -- there would be literally no need to do any manual backlinking.
