I have a guy that put up negitive info about my company. He is ranked #2 right below me. He continues to post very bad things about the company and has demanded $ and he will remove it. Any ideals how to get him bumped way down. I have tried to build other sites and push him down. But he seems pretty well dug in. Any ideals or comments I would be greatful for.

Either he's lying - and you need to talk to your lawyer about slander and blackmail etc....

Or he's telling the truth and you just want to keep him quiet...

Rep management MAY help; but if he's persistent, the problem needs to be dealt with at its source.

Ignore him. You pay and it'll become a lifetime deal. Mob protection works the same way.

PM me your URL and his URL and I'll take a look and tell you what you can expect.

The only way is to push him down the page.

I would backlink the number 3 to number 5 results even if they're not yours. They will be easier to move and I've done it numerous times for customers and it works a dream!

This strategy is more or less applicable for all types of websites?

in the us, blackmail is illegal. collect the evidence, go to the police and file a report

And there are 200 some odd other countries he might be from

I agree with tonlilaz, blahttp://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/members/8500-tonlilaz.htmlckmail is illegal almost everywhere. Contact you're lawyer if you have one, or find as much evidence as you can and contact the police. They will at least be able to find out who the person is, even if they're not from your country, they will find out and you can file a report with the local police.

And in most of which no one pursues prosecuting it.

If the police won't push forth a conviction, then you can always just go directly to the prosecution service, i.e. the District Attorney or the Crown, or if that fails, bring it to trial yourself. Where I'm from you can bring a Private Prosecution, the only stipulation being that the Procurator Fiscal can take control of the trial at any time, but once its in the system they would never be able to terminate a blackmail trial.

Like anyone in the US would REALLY give a flying fuck about online blackmail... It all comes down to how much legal firepower you can muster, in which case you can MAKE people give a fuck about it.

This type of activity is unlawful almost everywhere. Get in touch with you're attorney if you have one, or discover as much proof as you can and phone the law enforcement. They will at least be able to uncover out who the individual is, even if they're not from your nation, they may discover out and you can computer file a document with the regional law enforcement.

lawyer (legal way) + enormous backlinks to his rank #2 website with porn anchor texts to sandbox him... (illegal way + dangerous for you cause he might rank #1 after..)

Did you just rewrite ChaRoN.StYx's post in shittier English?

The question is wether the site in question contains facts,if it does get a big list of pron links and use dodgy keywords whilst blastiing sites 3-5 as already stated with good keywords.Do not overblast sites 3-5 it will not be needed.A3k list of guaranteed found AA links will do fine between the 3.Do 1.5k one day then the other 1.5k the next day.

If it is genuine blackmail, reverse the tables, tell him you are reporting him.

What you do depends wether this guy has facts on his site or not,and only you know that.

This is business brother just business. Blast his ass with some "good quality" backlinks. Remember he can do the same thing lol :))
