Hi, in a tight situation and have been looking at eBay as maybe the answer? I need to start making around $200/m fast and was thinking it might be possible to do $50 a week with eBay? I'm very unfamiliar with doing this and brand new to the whole thing but have been trying to explore it. I've talked to distributors on alibaba, aliexpress, diytrade, etc but the people I've talked to seem very shady. I've thought about doing otterboxes but it seems ebay is overpopulated with them and that ship has sailed? Unless maybe the 5c cases coming out soon will make a debut on ebay at a high price? I've also thought Kate Spade cases, but the profit seems low on those. I would really love to do perfume as I am familiar with it and the margins are amazing and it can be sold at sites other than ebay, but of course finding authentic retailers seems impossible. Navigating this all has been very tricky and I would love if someone could help steer me in a direction. Maybe someone on here knows of an item that could make a profit but doesn't have the time to bother with it? I could buy, list, sell, ship, etc do the work and cut the profits in exchange for some guidance and a wholesale hookup? I'm not looking to do this very longterm, 24 months max, and don't plan on growing much, so I don't see myself as a potential threat or competition for very long so if anyone could give any recommendations it would seriously help out so much. I'm pretty much clueless but trying my hardest I promise. I've never had the mindset that everyone on here has...starting from the very floor to the top of the building and all the patience, but I admire it so much and look forward to your advice if you'd be kind enough to donate some. Thank you!

I'm sorry I didn't read the full content of your post, as you have not taken care to format it properly (No offence, it's just hard to read).

Just wanted to tell you that new eBay seller accounts are limited as to how much they can sell in a month. After a while the limit will be raised, but even with the initial limit, you can easily do $50/week if you have the right products to sell.

I've been doing ebay selling for a while and the thing with purchasing from wholesalers in unless you are looking to buy in large bulk, they will tend to over price a lot of their products. This will make you a lot less competitive and harder for you to make a profit.

How many SKUs or products are you planning on doing?
Why are you limiting yourself to $200?
Whats your long term plan for this?

RMX thank you, sorry didn't notice how bad the format was. I forgot about the selling limit so thank you I will have to contact ebay.

I'd probably look to do around 1-4 products, I wouldn't want to overwhelm as I'm trying to find a niche and also don't want to burn out the money I have to buy wholesale. I'm looking to make that much as I'm in need of it monthly very badly. If I am able to do well maybe I will grow a little, but I'm not looking at this as a full income. I am looking to sell items that will consistently make around $50 a week so I can depend on it. I'm a beginner so I'm not sure long term, maybe I will get good at this and turn it into something more profitable, but for now I'm just trying to investigate further and make sure I do everything correctly. If you have any advice for me that would be great.

Its a bit hard to sell only a few products to profit $50 a well. I would suggest try finding things at a thrift store or garage sale which you may be able to mark up higher than just buying stock from a wholesaler. I read somewhere on the forum that someone made a good profit selling things he found unique to where he lived, like plants.

Yes, I quite agree....thrift stores and garage sales are a great place to find items that you can buy for $1-$5 and sell for $30-$100 in profit on average. Just takes time to find items that fit the bill.

    Good luck
