I'm somewhat getting bored of eating meat these days and sometimes I wonder if I should give it a go and try being a vegetarian for some time.

I only eat meat because that's what I've always eaten, it fills me up and tastes good when its well made.

Is being a vegetarian more healthy? Can you build mass and muscles while being vegetarian?

Can anyone shed some light on this? It's rather hard to find accurate information these days due to the commercial nature of our times.

No trust me being a vegetarian isn't more healthy.

You just need to diversify what you eat, just like you diversify your backlinks for a better SEO rank...

    Mix them together!

    No. Yes.

Non of our ancestors were vegetarians, why the hell should we be? Also, I think vegetarians/vegans are just spoiled people who want to draw attention to themselves

Most western diets consist of too much meat but going strictly vegetarian is an not easy task. We're omnivores so a shot of protein each day is okay. Basically, I stopped eating most red meat and I feel healthier, that plus refined sugar. But I'm not religious about it either and that doesn't mean once or twice a year I don't enjoy a good steak.

it depends you can eat vegetarian and be sick, fries is vegetarian so is as-pertain you can die from it it's so bad, but also meat can be healthy like wild alaskan salmon or bad like the GMO crap meat, so it all depends. The move healthy organic veggies you eat and beans and nuts the better.

I'm a vegetarian. I usually think of pork, cows and chicken as walking vegetables.

Also, beer has no meat in it that I know of.

ShadeDream, you must be prepared for some torture by people like Amex. They'll say "you're just spoiled", that "you want attention", "how's that", wondering "what you eat" and similar. :D
J/K, but regarding health, I'm constantly on some kind of diet because vegetables can't fill me up alone and I don't want to eat many times a day so I'm eating a lot of high caloric food with it and gaining at weight. And, after a couple of months, on diet again... :) Of course you can get muscles and mass. I'm 190cm and have 105kg and never had any problems to convert my mass to muscles.

WTF? I'm vegetarian, not by choice, but because I can't stand eating meat. I ate some meat last time 25 years ago when I was a kid. I can prepare it and feed my kids with it, but I don't want to eat it. And if I want attention, I'll probably eat meat when nobody see me... If somebody don't like to eat tangerines, you'll say he's spoiled? If you only knew how many times I watched others eating and I was starving at my job, or some wedding, celebration... :)

If you mean being vegetarian rather than vegan, you wont have too much trouble getting the nutrients you need, however going vegan can be dangerous if not done correctly. Do your research to make sure your getting everything you need in your diet.

Nothing compares to a well balanced diet. Meat is harder to digest, so what. You need the protein. My brother went vegan & lost his hair. Now he eats fish & chicken.

Looks like I will be having to look more into a well balanced diet rather than turning vegetarian.
