I had won domain emcdda.org in godaddy auction on 11 June 2022. Then I paid them immediately and received email fund verified so I'm waiting for the transfer to my account. On 14 June 2022, I had received email which told me to turn off protected registration for this domain. This email supposed sent to seller but because something error it was sent to me.

So I contacted them about this incident. They email me on 5 July 2022, apologize and told me that they are trying to deliver the domain to me. Suddenly without any confirmation on 14 July 2022, godaddy refund my money and cancel the transfer. I had contact them but they made lots of excuse and different every time. My chat was in attachment. They told in emcdda.org is drop domain and seller re-register it and can get it back because seller already paid the domain for such long years. But i found it this domain is private auction from seller

Then i wrote in trustpilot, review team contact me and told me auction team give another excuse that they did take action against. Maybe they mean seller is banned but i don't know. But I'm sure that i won this auction with very cheap price only 100USD and this domain so powerfull have 1,067 Reffering domain according to ahrefs, 63 DR and 193,699 ahrefs rank. Maybe because of this auction won got cancelled

So please becareful when you guys bid in godaddy auction, If you won with cheap price maybe you can't get the domain. If you won auction with expensive price, surely have to paid it.

Godaddy is the biggest con-artist on the map for domains/web dev tools/materials.

How they're still in business is because they didn't start out that way.

They started their scummy bullshit after they made a name for themselves.

I am a domainer. I know all about GD auctions and how shitty they can be.

But TBH I don't believe this until I see proof. If it was an expired auctions, it happens all the time.
Godaddy auction off domains after the owner fails to pay but there is a period required by the law where the original owner can still renew the domain, albeit he has to pay more.

Prove that this was a user auction because it sounds unbelievable.

There's no limit to how low GD can go. At every low point, you will discover new dept of their depravity.

Not quite. They're a piece of shit registrar and do everything to take more of your money. They are undoubtedly the worst registrar in the world, technically speaking, but they have the best marketing, power and domain count. They just bought DAN.com like a week ago, the main alternative for domain landing pages.

But they wouldn't last long if they scammed people. I'd like to see some proof on your part.

Wow that's sad.

Maybe when they scammed you, you will ask how it took you this long to know what GD had become.

I've both and sold many domains registered at godaddy. Never had such problems. Their problems are retarded support, sleazy upsells, anti-customer ideals and arguably auction shill bidding, but not this.

Wouldn't it be better if you posted proof so real people can take look at it?

No need to waste my time on GD. They are well known for what they are already.
Seems you are the only one that think everyone else is lying angainst them.
Good luck with doing business with them.

mate, you sound like a lawyer who defends his client by saying "yes, he raped, murdered, and had sexual intercourse with children and animals, but he's innocent, your honor! I have proof that he didn't mug this homeless guy"

Would you people like wrong information or correct? Understanding will help you make decisions in the future. As someone who has used a bunch of different domain registrars and marketplaces, I would like to know more so I can base my decisions better in the future.

I'm just saying, I don't believe this guy as is. I hate godaddy, my least favorite registrar, but that doesn't make what he says true.

I don't know why you wouldn't want to share evidence if it's true. Would help a whole lot of people. Seems illogical to me.

Yes, it's true. I had the same type of experience.

I know many people that complain about the same thing.

But OP is talking about a different thing. Domain owner renewing in redemption period is normal and happens all the time. In fact, did you guys know that some people do this on purpose? They let their domains expire to see how much they would fetch on an auction (so they basically get a real appraisal), then they renew.

OP said it was a user auction but no proof so far.

You are correct and this has been going on a long time. Same thing happens with Dyna$uck, previous registrant let's it go to auction, see's the demand and then renews. Auctions like in the real physical world say of bankruptcy never commence without a "receiver" being assigned (Registrar) taking possession and in charge of transferring title by a "court" (ICANN). Other smaller registrars are better.

OP- Just don't do business where you are treated like this, move on- 80-100k expire daily.
