I've made a fake Yahoo question and answer and I'm trying to rank it on Google. It's only a 3 word phrase I'm trying to rank for, and gets about 7000 monthly searches. Also apparently it's "high" competition.

So oddly enough the #1 answer to my the phrase I'm trying to rank is coming up with someone elses Yahoo answer/question. How would I compete with them? I've tried using the exact URL on ahrefs and there don't appear to be any results. Is this a mistake? Or does it not work for third-party sites like Yahoo answers?

Their on-page SEO doesn't appear to be any different to mine. Is there something that I should know about SEO when it's on a mutual third-party site like Yahoo Answers?

Will that actually help if I start building up links to the yahoo answer? Or maybe even do one of those "blasts" to spam it's link all over the internet?

This can be extremely difficult considering the competition is "high" and the limited SEO functionality you're given on yahoo answers. I'd personally rather try to rank for something around the 1000-3000 range with a low competition. OR use something more powerful than yahoo answers.

Since they're both more or less the same question on the same answer website, the more mature post is going to trump you.

Here's a quick tip: find a low competition long tail keyword to rank for, make sure it's untapped.

That should be very easy. If the other answer does not have any links, then when you build links to it, Google should see that it is higher quality, and rank it instead of the other yahoo answer.
