Really miss this guy. Nobody can do what he does to survive.
I remember watching him drinking piss and swimming naked in an ice cold river.
I remembered him drinking water out of elephant crap, haha.
I have watched most of his tv episodes man vs wild as well as worst case scenario with bear grylls really he is an ultimate survivor have learnt lot from him...
I like Survivorman better.
Bear Grylls might drink piss, but Les Stroud is a little more deep in his narratives, and he survives without a team, it's just him. Bear Grylls is just a sensation seeker.
Both guys have saved lives though.
Not sure if any of you guys outside of the UK have heard of Bruce Parry, but he's worth youtubing. Spends time with tribes getting himself involved with how they live for weeks at a time. Eats what they eat, sleeps where they sleep and takes all their ritual drugs and stuff. Really interesting and comes across as a nice guy too.
This basically explains it..
I would have less respect for Bear Grylls had he not been the youngest Briton to summit Everest, serve in the UK Special Forces for 3 years, been the youngest appointed Chief Scout and hold at least one other world record. Plus all the other stuff he had swallowed and kept down.
That said, Survivorman sounds really interesting.
But don't assume that just because he has a team with him, it means he is in no danger. Some of the stuff he does is incredibly dangerous, with no safety supports etc. But I do agree, at the end of the day his show is for entertainment. (but he could still out survive all of us in 99.9% of all situations)
Yeah but when Bear Grylls swallows bugs, he's revolted and acts like he's sick, when Les Stroud swallows bugs, he has a big grin on his face because he's actually beginning to starve and hasn't eaten for days. For me that's more interesting.
Bear is a really great stuntman and climber, but it's not exactly survival.
Not sure why I have to argue about Bear Grylls, but Special Forces training almost definitely requires navigating through the forests/jungles alone for days or weeks at a time. Was reluctantly drafted into the army once, so there.
sorry to ask..but who is this and what happen?
He was the host of popular survival programs on Discovery Channel. Sadly, in March of this year ...... his show was dropped.
He is a real man. I still watch his old shows on internet.
I'm more of a Les Stroud fan myself... this is what Bear has succumbed to
"He better wash it down with piss" LOLOL
Meanwhile, after that delicios "protein"..
what a twat eating with his fat ass crew, that all they prob do just eat in the wild.
