Be different. Be sensible. Open a business, don't start a method - goal to £1000/day.

Recently I posted on a thread about how one individual successful in his method to $100/day (and congratulations to him!) should consider opening a business. People quickly responded by saying that my information was useless - they replied by saying that my information was generic, it was worthy of "heading a church group", generally stating that it was rubbish with no value whatsoever. It startles me that on a forum where thousands of entrepreneurial minds gather and discuss how to make money that suggesting something such as opening a business really seems that crazy!

And so I've reached the verdict that there are too many people with mindsets that, despite witnessing people making $1000+/day, really have no belief in anything unless there is an obvious chance of success. They want to start using YouTube+CPA to $100/day because they have no belief unless somebody else has done that before. It is not worth a second glance unless they follow the crowd. People replied saying "everybody wants to open Facebook", suggesting people only make millions by having the most incredible idea ever.

This mentality, especially on this forum, needs to end now. So here's a thread for all the sheep, all the pussies, who unless they witness somebody do something won't have the balls to do it firstly for themselves, those who despite being given all the advice to open a business can't see anything that catches their eye because it's all been said before and thus assume that there is some "hidden secret" to opening a business. I've given loads of advice on methods, and people accept it. I give advice on businesses and I'm a shady salesman who sings the same tune everybody else who owns a business does.

This is no secret method. This is no rain dance. The secret to success? Start using your time to work towards something where you don't limit how much you can make per hour. That's it. You can do that by opening a business, and then choosing to either offer a service or make a product. A human resources team then reduces how much time you input. Eventually your time will not be needed to be inputted, and you can choose how long you work. Most importantly of all, you can sell the business, which is something you can't do if you start a method. This is why businessman start businesses.

    Day 1:

SO, after all that, here's what I'm going to do. After my first successful sale of a company I started for £275,000 after just 14 months, I need something new. I have a company and a domain which I was going to make into an SEO company. I've changed my mind though, and now I want to start a web design company. The domain is http://www.mantus.co.uk and it currently needs to be designed (would be a lame web design company if my website looked crap huh :p). That's tomorrow's job, because my girlfriend's yelling at me. Today it's quite late, so I haven't got much time to work today, but I've decided to make a retro and vintage web design company as a USP. The goal is £1000/day by 12 months' time, and to sell the company in 18 months for £500,000 or more. Wish me luck!

I really like your thinking about other peoples mentality. I am also one of these people who is stuck in YT + CPA, but reading what you just posted made me think I need to find something else. I am currently thinking about setting something unique up with my CPA money as investment money.

I will keep following your journey thread, keep us updated!

I wish you the best of luck! :)

I agree about owning businesses, that's where money is to be made for sure,

but, you say you sold for 250,000 and decided to design the new one yourself?

I would suggest outsourcing to professionals, outsource everything except that which you are proficient in...

You are right about opening a company, go for it mate. However you said you first wanted to do a SEO company, then changed your mind to web design.... was that a carefully thought out choice, or more of an instinctive one? Also, will you be registering it in the UK? I've heard that islands like Jersey have some pretty sweet deals when it comes to incorporating...

You are absolutely right! This just explains it all:
Don't know if you're designing the webdesign yourself or not, hit me up if you want a good designer!

Right on! I like where your heads at. I feel the same as you do, and I'm...sort of doing the same thing, though I'm pretty new at running a business, so it's slow going. I'm interested in chatting more. Are you going to be designing your site yourself, and what of the business that comes in? will you be hiring others, or something else perhaps?

@Wolfpack Some people aim too low like you said and starting a business, a real one has always been a goal of mine. I hope you meet your goal sooner than your deadline and show everyone that $1000/day is very achievable.

Yup. Most of that money is in a 6.5% ISA for a year; the interest will return ~£15.5K sometime next January. The rest of the money isn't going to be frivolously spent either, especially not on web design when I'm supposed to be a web designer! More importantly than that, I want the website I make to reflect my quality of work, and not under- or over-deliver compared to what I can do. I also like anything related to my company to have a strong influence of my input when it's something as vital as a website - call it excessive perfectionism, but to me it's important that you represent your company how you want to represent it to the T, and one of the best ways of doing that is to do it yourself.

I've got nothing else to do at the moment either - can't go client hunting without at least 1 website in my portfolio!

Unfortunately registered this company a while back, about 6 months ago, and never had the thought of doing much with it because I was still involved with my first business. I will keep that in mind though! It cost ~£130 to set up through Company House, so still not so bad.

Web design is a really saturated and competitive niche here in London, and so is SEO. Both are challenges to start really, and can be limited to how far you can travel. I want to change that. Those little diners in America that attract people from 25 different states because of the quality of their food? I want that to be my web design company. Quality over anything. Also I can't think of any useful USPs for an SEO company, expect to reduce my price; I really don't want to get involved in a bid-off for how cheap I can be.

Businesses can be slow going at first. People usually see the event - "X company sold for $1bn". They don't see the maxed out credit cards and 80-hour weeks, but that's how successful business is. I'll be trying to do as much of the work I can at first to reduce cost, I have lots of free time and I love being fully immersed in my companies. Only once I need the extra time to do other things will I garner more expenses from employees or outsourcing.

Well thought out! Try to achieve passive income from YT&CPA (for all reading, sorry to have knocked that method specifically haha, I too did it a while ago), then focus on what makes your company special and different. Simple and elegant branding is necessary too, easier to say than think of mind you. Three USPs seems to work best, but one awesome USP will work just as well. Make sure your business can be scaled, that it's not too easy to enter or duplicate, and that you're the one in control of your money (this is where most methods fail; you currently rely on both your CPA network not changing how much they pay you /click, AND on YT not deleting your videos. Wouldn't it be disappointing if you're earning $1000/day and YT just said "NOPE!").

Most important of all, make sure you have a NEED! for what you do. That's vital, and it's why some businesses are a shameful waste of time. We've all heard of the crazy inventor spending millions on something that any other sane individual would look at and think "what's the point of that?". Don't let that be you!

    * * *

Website's looking nice so far btw! Homepage and hopefully a lot more will be finished after today. Updates later!

I have a couple of questions for you OP. As I am thinking about setting up a business with my money earned from CPA + YT.

Is it possible to start a business in something like SEO or Web Designing if you don't have any knowledge or skill in it? For example could you just outsource all the work?

Does the domain name need to be related to your business?

Are you starting this business from scratch or do you already have some clients?

How much did you spend on your last business?

I am currently going through ideas, I am thinking about starting an SEO business but am unsure if I could do this as I know very little about SEO.

    Thanks :)

This is my kind of journey Good Luck!

I realise I'm not the OP but I can answer a few of your questions.

    1) It DEFINITELY helps to know your market so that you know who to employ and when it all goes wrong you can sort things out but you can completely outsource, it is possible. Find a responsible team that you trust and then when you get clients, send them to the SEO or Web design team minus your bonus.

    2) It doesn't have to be. You might want to make a brand or may want to give some idea of your business from the URL. For instance, Apple is how it is and everyone knows what they do but TheMoneyWizardSEO may be better for when you're starting out. It's all really a personal preference as both clearly work as companies do both.

The other questions can only be answered by the OP, but what I will say is; try it, don't be scared by the idea of having a business.

I have future plans like this, but right now I am planning on making passive income tree for myself.

These ideas only come in mind when you have a lot of money, and you don't want to waste your time doing all that YT+PPD bullshit.
