Be careful with Hostwinds, they stole my US$822 on the sneak on BLACK Fridays

    on last balck fridays, I got a BIG offer from Hostwinds.com via their affiliates website, actually it was BIG trick for me. I ordered a annually dedicated server and paid a invoice of US$274, but there were 3 times of US$274 on my paypal billings. obviously they guys used some technical methods to charged me on sneak and took total US$822 from my paypal. I ask them to return 2 payments of US$548 to me, they said NO and without any explanation and canceled all my services, Hostwinds stole my US$822 and hope they are been happy christmas!:(:eek:

    In terms of payment they are really assholes

    I brought a windows VPS from they and after 3 months first they charged me $10 extra for windows VPS saying there is an addition windows price, even though I didn't pay for first 3 months and after 5 months they gave me an $8 extra invoice asking me to pay extra for IP manager ( I don't know what it is )


    I am still a customer there but I recommend everyone to stay away from them if you want your payments to be true. No wonder why they implemented the PayPal subs feature and removed onetime pay PayPal option

    HW did a big promotion on BHW and everyone wants this to end alright. I wasn't thinking lawsuit.

    I see you have decided to paste the exact same thread on multiple forums, I love when people do that.

    Upon your reviewing your account I found the following information:

    1) You filed a PayPal reversal on 11/30, 3 days after ordering.

    2) Our system detected the reversal, and marked your order as fraud. Thus marking all of your invoices as unpaid and terminating your account as per our TOS

    "In the event that we are notified that a chargeback or other dispute is filed, all of your active services will be immediately terminated from our system, and your account will be immediately closed."


    I would assume you are filing a reversal as a result of not getting a refund on one of the dedicated server that you paid for, after it was already provisioned.

    Both servers were paid for at the same, time, and as per our TOS dedicated servers are not covered by the 60 day money back guarantee. This is due to potential for abuse, along with provisioning time.

    I only see 2 payments were taken from you:

    I see that one has actually be returned to us today, and the other is on hold pending PayPal investigation. It can take our billing teams up to 24 hours to process and finalize funds when they are returned to us after a dispute.


    As such one of your servers has already been resubmitted for re-provisioning, and I assume your other one will be as well once PayPal completes their decision. You should have the login info for both of your servers once again within 24 hours.


    Please familiarize yourself with our TOS, and understand that normally filing a dispute of any kind is grounds for permanent account closure. I am going to give you another chance, please shoot me a PM if there is anything else I can do to help!

    let me explain more details which hostwinds love to lose sigh of the fact
    2016-11-27 10:45:47 paypal transaction ID 9DA89302PV862561A paid for Invoice #345730.
    2016-11-27 16:35:28 paypal transaction ID 3M961045M19953906 paid for Invoice #345690
    2016-11-27 16:35:33 paypal transaction ID 8ED842585C725984X paid for Invoice #345730 one more time
    paypal transaction 3M961045M19953906 and 8ED842585C725984X were generated almost same time, didn't be done by myself and no possible to make separate payments simultaneously. on other side, 8ED842585C725984X was duplicate one since Invoice #345730 was paid.
    I explained them online and in Paypal, but they kept reject returning payments, they intend to steal my money and no way to take it back. it is enough clear for us to know what's the business hostwind make.

    Ive been with hostwinds for a good while, i doubt they will knowingly screw you over without reason.

    Yep open a shitlist. A scam member/website should not be allowed to run a service here at bhw. Let the mods decide if Hostwinds is right or wrong here.

    Just to add some two cents here... I've used HostWinds for a number of years without any issues. I've actually met Peter (the owner) in person several times along with 10+ members of their sales and support team.

    I also don't think that this forum BHW would have been previously hosted with HW for many years, let alone let them continue to advise if they constantly had issues like this.

    Just looking at PP statements it looks like the third charge isn't really a third charge.

    I'm also locking this thread now. OP - open a shit list and follow proper procedure, hostwinds has already answered above with what looks like a pretty plausible reason to your issue. However, if you're still not happy then open a shit list.

    You literally joined this forum today to make this post. We won't stand for witch hunts here. So open the shitlist properly or don't.. random accusation threads like this are not tolerated.
