I cannot remember exactly which program it was, it might have been tube automator, but I used a poster's link to rap*dsh@re and DL'd the program.

Next thing you know my bank account has been accessed and funds were withdrawn. I feel like an idiot because after installing the program, a pop up saying to enter your PayPal email addy comes up, and I enter it like a dumb ass. 2 days after I see the transaction. Just as my bank was changing my account, the crook gets another transaction through.

The transaction said "PayPal Rap*dsh*are" for $27.33. Next one said THEPHOTOSCENTRAL C 901-3138292 for $9.87. I'll get that motherf*cker who did this LOL

Are you sure it was from this forum? Cause tube automator belongs to a member here, so we do not share it. So, pay attention who do you believe, although if you are so "smart" as to enter your paypal information into a pop up, i have doubts that you ll ever " get that motherfucker who did this"

Tubeautomator only asks you for your paypal email when you click the unlock button to check if you have made the payment, and nobody can access your bank account or your paypal account with your paypal email... unless they have the password, which I assume you didn't type in as there isnt a box to type it in...

The "cracked" version you got from rapidshare mostly had a trojan that stole your bank info using some keylogger.

So guess what.... you fucked yourself.... and if it was indeed a trojan, finding the guy who screwed you over is as hard as the proverbial needle in the haystack.. good luck..

Ok, I take full blame. It's scary to think there's a keylogger spyware on my comp, so is there software available to find anything like this?

    Here's what I do.. don't laugh !!

I reformat my machine with xp pro at least once a month. Doesn't take long and i always do it while i'm doing other stuff, so it's not a waste of time.

Being that I'm always downloading software from this site, of course keyloggers and the occasional trojan might get on my system regardless of which antivirus/keylogger i use.

yes, it's a PITA re-installing everything. But i export my roboform stuff as well as firefox bookmarks and im pretty much happy. Other stuff is re-loading mp3's.

Now there's never any kind of p0rn on my comp.. lol If any, they are on CD's. I had a laptop die on me and felt insecure sending it to a laptop technician (which happens to be a family member)... lol

Anywayz.. i believe it's worth the time to re-install windows every so often :D

What you should do is get your computer setup just the way you like it, all current updates installed and settings tweaked the way you like it. Then, before you download anything, install and run Acronis TrueImage 8 or 9. This will let you make a complete backup "image" of your computer's current state and back it up to a separate hard drive or multiple DVD discs. Then, when you need to reformat, you won't have to! You just pop in the Acronis Emergency Boot CD, and restore the old image that you backed up. Within 10-20 minutes your computer will be right back to the point at which you saved it! And unlike with Norton Ghost, you don't have to boot into DOS to run Acronis :D

Thanks for the advice, essential clix...
I have heard about those programs and I never tried it because of the $50 price tag and the fact that I have no disposable income. But when I think about it, saving a few hours a month is definately worth it.

I should break down and purchase it.
    Thanks :D

Trueimage is very, very worth it. I'm a reformat junkie myself, I know where you're coming from. But with Trueimage you can just recover back to a comfortable spot within a few minutes without any hassle at all.

And hell, if you don't want to pay for it... just steal it.
