Last night I was doing some keyword research and I got this message, which I've seen before a few times before:
Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer network. Please try your request again later.

Normally I just do as they say, try again later, and everything's back to normal. But this has been nearly 24 hours and I still can't do keyword lookups.

I haven't done keyword research in many months. Is this now normal practice for google?

Hoping I haven't gotten myself perma-banned or something.

Was using it today, and Google told me I had to sign up for an Adwords account...too many searches or some shit

Have you tried to clear your cache and flash cookies? Just do that and reboot your router unless you have a static ip. That should solve your problem.

It's only temporary, though I don't know how long they suspended you, it will come back.

Thanks, tried that but it didn't work. Used Privacy Eraser to make sure I wiped everything and got a fresh ip.

They must have bound the ban to my account itself and not just my ip. I think there's a way to use market samurai without logging in to an adwords account, I'll give that a try next.

I took the steps above (again) in wiping the cache & cookies, getting a new ip, then just created another account.

And that will be the last time I try to process a list of 12k keyword phrases at once in adwords :)
