    Bangkok Bodysnatchers

Contains content that may cause concern - NSFW

Guess only seasoned travelers will relate to these scenarios?

Having lived on the streets in Asia for over 17 years can confirm, this is how life is?

I have lived just recently in BKK and Pattaya for about 18 month, yeah life ain't easy and if you don't watch your money it will cost you!! cheap times are over, yes you be able to effort it, but you need at least €1000 with Wife to manage things.
even though besides the Heat it is absolutely enjoyable at some point, really nice places to visit.

Been living in Thailand for 10 years and can confirm the body snatchers are in all provinces not just Bangkok. However I can also confirm that while some of the volunteers are there to make merit to Buddha or just to help, there are also a large group that are there for the money! My ex girlfriend was a body snatcher in Bangkok for a year and she said the first thing they do when collecting a body is to strip it of any money and jewelry which is then divided between the team.

What a system where government doesn't provide for this. if volunteers didn't do this the government would have to or forgo their lifeblood tourist industry.

Oh wow. You just reminded me of something mindblowing. This happens in the U.S. too! I know this for a fact.

What i didn't know until very recently is, "According to the National Fire Protection Association, 69 percent of firefighters in the United States are volunteers."

The United States doesn't even provide these services. Taking an ambulance ride? Prepare to be charged. More people with $$$ in the states, that's the only difference.

Pretty sure there's no charges for the fire dept or coroner though. So be sure to burst into flames before dying.

You're right Dude. Didn't realize it until I read Toasia's comment. When someone clocks out in the US while alone in a house or apartment they have to call police & fire department & ambulance. If valuables, including valuable paperwork, are out in the open they will disappear. Same thing, different country. :(
