My company has some bad internet reputation problems resulting from some angry customers in 2006. This continues to haunt us, and the SEO contractors we hired are failing miserably.

We have ripoff report and some consumer blogs that simply will not go to the second page (luckily we have a great website and some very decent blogs that are on the first couple of results, and our rep on yahoo etc is doing very well)

If you guys wanted a quick fix, or even a long but workable fix, what would you do to clean up google rep?

I don't know if it's possible to get taken off of rip-off reports but if it's not then the only solution I can think of is changing your name.

I've suggested rebranding as well, but have been told its not feasible. Ripoff report ranks very high, and is difficult to combat. This is just brainstorming, any idea would be appreciated.

You might want to try creating accounts on popular web services like YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook. You can artificially boost your rankings using any number of tools, though these member pages generally rank well without much work. RipOffReport is a total PITA to get rid of completely, but you can push it far enough down in the SERPs to make it a non-issue. I've had to do this for various clients before. Another one that is hard to get rid of is anything that involves the Better Business Bureau.

Unfortunately we've done all of this. We have also been submitting reviews to directories like mad. We tried to get a google maps to show up first but we failed on that. We have a good BBB rep, but now its blogs, forums, and ripoff report that discuss us thats the problem.

Thanks for the post Forever, i just submitted reviewme to my SEO guy.

Would hiring bloggers off of craigslist work as well>?
