You ever been there where you choose keywords and they turn shitty after a while?

This is the second time things go bad, the first time was when another site hit the #1 spot and received no traffic.

The traffic above stalled and I do not think it'll recover to where it was or at all. What would you do in my place? Sell? Who would buy a site with no traffic keyword? It's at #3 and I was working it on the way up to find this, 2 sites actually with own keyword. Wasted effort and money, damn shit.

I wouldn't put that down to bad luck, just bad research of a keyword. I know how you feel though, the first site I did I thought I had found a goldmine, turns out I had 'broad' checked while doing my research:eek:

Whats the general niche of the keyword? It may help in finding out why the traffic has dwindled.

When I started building the sites, the traffic stats was at 2k resp 1k on avg. per month.

The niche is something around tech, actually products/services that are needed daily, not sure what can explain the drop, very strange this is.

It's like no one wants to buy a computer anymore.

If you don't mind me asking, where are you getting that monthly search data for the keyword? I swear I've done it before but totally can't recall where.

Well thats definitely not a seasonal niche, I would have thought demand would remain pretty much stable.

Could there be any other factors such as articles in the news which generated a buzz around a particular keyword?
This type of traffic would surely decrease over time.

maybe if you would've share the keywords, someone may do a few research on them again. If he gets the same results, you're unlucky.

Who's gonna steal your keywords if they turned out to be shitty ?

It's right there in G keyword tool. ^^

Just extract the data so you can see monthly stats as the value shown on the website is the average.

Was the product brand new when you started promoting it?

If so the demand could've died down a little OR a newer model/version was released

That would equate to 6000 uniques per month and roughly 20% of the traffic, there's nothing wrong with those statistics from a 33k search term.
To increase this you would have to look at your page title to make more people choose your page over the others.

I can certainly tell that this is not the case, there must otherwise be a new innovation I'm unaware of. Not a specific product, but a type.

Those god damn people, where did they go.. Should I place a keylogger on their pc to see where they went or what, haha.

    Based on what?

If you're going to disagree, at least provide an explanation as to why.

Don't fret. This happened a lot to me earlier on. Even with data from google, there is no sure thing. You can only improve your chances by doing a few extra things. Have you thought of using LSI keywords for that particular keyword? You will be surprised how many sites get traffic and clicks for words which were not the original keyword.

IMO that's not a high enough search volume to get you enough traffic, even if you rank #1.
