Backlinks..?

Quick question. Lets take social bookmarks for example. Lets say I bookmark my URL to 40 bookmarking sites. Only 3 are indexed when I put my URL into google. Are the other 37 sites still considered backlinks by google..or are only the 3 indexed sites count?

Check your # of backlinks with Yahoo, Google only shows a portion of the backlinks it has for a site but Yahoo will show all of them that are being found.

Well I'm concerned with just google rankings..I just want to know if non indexed backlinks count towards google rankings.

I might not have been clear enough there, G00gle sees more links than it shows you when you check it, they may see 100 backlinks but only show 30 when you do a links:YOURDOMAIN search. G00gle likes to keep some of what they see and know about your site secret, that's all.

That's why I said check what Yah00 is seeing because that's more accurate and will give you a better idea (not 100% but close) of what G00gle really sees too. The point is if Yah00 has found all 40 of your social bookmarking backlink you can bet G00gle has already found them too, they just won't all show on G00gle.
