what do you mean how does it work??
You just make other sites link to your site and if those links are of high quality you rank higher in google. It's pretty straightforward
High quality backlinks can mean any, most, or all of these things:
- they come from sites that google likes and trust
- they come from pages on those sites, that are relevant to the page of your site that you're linking to
- they are placed in the content of those pages (in-content links are usually more valuable than links placed in the sidebar / footer / pages without content)
- they come from pages with organic traffic and / or with authority (UR, PA, etc)
