I read somewhere that building backlinks is against google tos. Is this true? If thats true, isn't all linkbuilding against TOS? Would google do anything to you if they found out? Id appreciate it if someone could shed some light on this. Thanks!

Building backlinks is not wrong, but you must try to avoid some techniques that against google TOS. And don't try to build much backlinks in short time too. That will be considered as spamming.

who cares about their TOS, as long as i get higher rank, will do the best for backlinking.
