So I had been submitting a lot of backlinks to various blogs using the trackback feature...got to page one of google for a few months at my keywords...now I notice that at certain times of the day my site is located on page 1, and other parts of the day it drops to like page 3 or 4...

If I check google throughout the days of the week it seems like it is constantly bouncing around the top 4 pages...are my original backlinks not being indexed anymore...or what could be causing the daily fluctuation?

Any insight would be helpful

What kind of seo system/routine do you have in place?

It is cycling due to it not keeping constant updated content coming to and from your site. lock your keyword topic in your content and leave it alone...then, push the traffic content through blogging, articles and such. The thing is that it must be consistant. You start it and go up only to back off, you will fall back.

That's why I don't consider it stable seo when used in that method. You need to anchor your content to work for you better.

Yeah.. I got the same problem last month.. and then, when I doing some SEO, anchor text like aftershock said, It is stable now on the page 1..the position might change plus minus one..that is normal I think..

The miracle happen to me I think.. I just did the internal linking rather than doing some linkbuilding and the result is quite impressive... I got the 3rd/4th place for a keyword and got the first place for that keyword in MSN.. I dont know how it happens.. I just did internal linking and that is the result..

When I check the backlinks, they are just the backlinks mostly from google trends..Any idea how it happens??

BTW, the competition isnt too big. It is just 2 millions..

Thanks for the tips...sounds like I need to start blogging a bit to keep my results steady. My SEO is used for a social networking site that doesn't have much changes on the main page...constantly getting new members, pictures, and videos...but the main content is kind of staying static for the time being. Will give the blog linking more of a try along with going after the trackbacks.

If you are using blogs that push the links off the first page, that might explain some of the fluctuations.

This is an excellent point!

How do you "lock your keyword topic in your content"?

Does this mean write your web page using your keyword for a keyword density fro 2-3% and then don't make any changes?

Then get backlinks from social sites, forums, directories, etc?

Lack of details here really
But I have seen the same thing with a Adult blog its about 2 years old
Has little or no back links if I was to dig hard for them and come up with more than 5 I would be surprised.
Any way this is blog is doing the same for 4 keywords
But in the Google Blog Search
In google.com it's not listed
My thoughts are the adult blogs have been spammed to hell with sprogs and google is now ranking only time trusted site and is rotating them
