Hi all,

So I have been doing a lot of directories (both paid and free), only the ones recommended by SEMrush from competitors. I must have done at least 30 by now and they are not showing up as links on Moz or on SEMrush Ihave had many say my listing is added also. Is there a lag between when you get a link and when it is picked up by trackers? Or am I doing something wrong?

Yes there is a lag.

Trackers have to crawl the entire Internet until they find your links, so it can take days, weeks or months. Directory links can take a long time as these websites do not get too much natural traffic, except the bigger directories.

Use indexation tools or tier 2 links, this may help spiders/crawlers find them faster.

There is always a lag with these things. Of course, it’s still possible that you may be doing something wrong, but you shouldn’t be surprised by trackers taking quite a bit to detect (and show) your links. I can’t even give you an estimate of how long you should wait. Sometimes they never pick them up at all. These tools aren’t perfect, but we have nothing better at the moment.

Like others have already said, yes, there is always a lag.

Just keep building out your site and its backlinks and don't focus too much on when the links show up in tools.

What are the bigger directories

Don't focus on same kind of backlinks. You have to go with link diversity for make it look natural.
