I'm looking for software that tracks backlinks and aids in sending out requests. What do you guys recommend?

Seo Suite is a good software for that, it also does a whole lot more. Such as keyword research, directory submissions, and reporting among other things. You can download the trial from the Apex Pacific website.

You can also use one of those pingers on blogs. It leaves a comment on a related blog. I'll see if I can find it for you.

In the days when I used to do reciprocal links Linksmachine was recommended. I think it's on linksmachine.net. It's works well. You have to examine the sites though - don't use "auto approve" - some spammers sign up and try to get you to link to their sites.

I don't bother with reciprocal linking anymore. I use BMD4 and PRStorm to get One-way backlinks. To get my BMD4 bookmarks indexed i just create a blog with links to my bookmarking accounts and spam the blog link to some blogs/forums/guestbooks.
