majestic, ahref and moz, each provide a score for each backlink. Few posts over the last year, have mentioned the trust flow rating from majestic has the best correlation with google serp.

would like to get other's take on this for 2017. To improve your rating across each platform, it requires different approach. For example, URL shortner concept has a positive impact on MOZ page authority and a little bit on AHREF url rating, but does not do any thing on majestic trust flow rating.

similar concept when you look at social signals. These signals also have different results across different platforms.

so, the rating from which platform has the closest correlation with improvements in google serp?

    thanks in advance

Use a mix of both and ur sense to judge the competition. SEO is an art more than science. You look at the first page results, do some analytics and ask yourself, can I do better? and at what effort. !

Instead of looking at the metrics as a whole, look at the backlinks, where they come, and are they contexual, comments and you can easily if you can beat the competition !

Like, if the competition is building web2.0 links then you can too. Comments, then you can too. PBN or real websites, do you have the budget to buy better ?

To conclude, don't depend on metrics alone and use your brain

I like ahrefs for looking at backlinks (they seem to always have the largest data set).

Majestic's TF and rd are the only metrics that hold any weight with me. Ahrefs metrics often doesn't make sense and moz has too small of a data set.

thanks for reply. based on your input, can I assume that you care more about majestic TF than moz da/pa scores? in other words majestic TF has a better correlation to serp than moz?

    It depends on you :)
Few years ago, people use to follow PR from Google.
Then DA/PA from Moz along with CF/TF and URL Rating i.e UR from Ahref.
But to be frank, I just use some quality backlinks (by checking their backlinks) and automatically all the above mentioned stuff gets increase by the same,
So I do not have to care for them :D
Yes, they do matter alot for ranking procedure though :) But every org (Moz, Ahref, Majestic etc) have their own algorithm and ranking factors.

Use common sense to analyze the power of a sites backlinks.

Majestic and moz are trash because their crawlers don't pick up links fast enough to give you an accurate measurement.

I have used all of them and i prefer ahrefs although it still doesn't pick up 50% of a sites backlinks!

Tried that on my own sites...
Best for individual url is AHREFS UR rating
It is easy to cheat UR with massive amounts of root domains ...
Eg UR 10 from some OBL150 guestbook. But UR8 from a niche related HQ link ... Do you own brain here ..

Best for overall checking if strength majestic TF CF..
But they suck finding all links compared to ahrefs

In the end. I use both . And pay for ahrefs monthly
