is buying adspace the same as backlinking? Let's say a news business or other business puts my ad up, is that the same as backlinking? Would that help seo rankings?

Thinking of buying ad space in websites for a month.

It can work as a backlink. If the ad is a link to your website, then it would be a backlink. It would be a temporary backlink and it might also be nofollow.

Yes, it could help rank you higher in the SERPs. It depends on how the ad is implemented.

If you are buying banner space or similar sidebar/footer/header advertisements, you should pay for only those that will actually drive relevant sales/traffic directly. The SEO impact would generally be minimal (or at least you would get better SEO results spending that budget elsewhere for SEO) and would be mainly a side benefit.

Yes it would be considered a backlink . Depending on the seller these can be ******** or Nofollow , both have their advantages, one passes juice , the other diversifies you links. Either one play an important role. As MatthewGraham suggests . In the case the ad you are buying is expensive then be creative and spend that money somewhere else to better perform in the SEO game.

I am too interested to know about this. How can we turn it in to do-follow backlink. And buying ad-space over Facebook do serve as a strong backlink.
As Facebook is high authority website.

Yes, especially if you put your ad on sites where your high ranking competitor is posting.
