Backlink and search engine question

My site is indexed on google as site.com. How should I link to it for backlinks? I have been doing http://site.com but when I looked up my site on a backlink checker it says I am indexed as http://www.site.com on google. Thanks for any help you can provide.


Also, if something is listed as site.com on google does that mean it is listed as http://site.com? Thanks again!
