So I tried an eBay dropshipping business with a company called DHgate. They are a chinese drop shipping company, and I found them through this forum =] Anyways, long story short found a product, decided to sell it for 2x the price on ebay.

It was the nokia n95 phone which sells for around 200 + free shipping on dhgate. Tried to sell it on egay for around 569 a pop and realized that Dhgate sells fakes!

Don't want to get my egay acc shut down, so I ended the item listing.

Total results: -$40 in listing fee

Experiment failed...

:usa:

wow
that sucks
what did you think was going to happen?
its a chinese company that outsources to all counterfeiters in china
lol

Word of Caution!!

Be very very careful with these chinese So called dropshippers mate. Times have changed now. Back in those days, Chinese companies used to produce quality staff, but now they are clever like the US, UK, Europe. they know the secret to success is producing loads at low prices lol

I tried to sell my Laptop on Egay two years ago.

Nigerian scammers would place a bid on the item though so when the auction ended it would appear the item had sold and Egay kept charging me a listing fee and a total fee. I did not know this, I was new to the system so I kept re-posting the item, because I knew the Nigerian e-mailers were just scammers.

I ended up having to re-sell the damn laptop 7 times and ended up with -700+
I tried to Contact Egay's support but they all need killed. I'm not sure what ever happened with that.

Tell me about it man. Them Nigerian scammers man. They are called 419. They are bizy using the internet scamming people, with all them...."I am dying from this, i got loads of money, send me $3000 so that i can talk to my solicitor"

Stay away from those spammers guys.

Freakin I ended up losing like -$100+ total from stupid dhgate....and I didn't even ship anything out yet. Effen bullshiz

Sorry to hear that, but don't give up though, you will find your goldmine soon. And you'll be laughing, checking your paypal account online.

Good luck

Haha I know. Right now I laugh every once in a while....maybe every other day when I get a $20 sale. Do you laugh at your paypal account? I bet you do!

:usa:

Oh yes bro. But bare in mind, I opened my paypal account and it was empty for two years though. I wasn't able to make money. I eventually mastered the GAME, Now these days It's weird if i don't get biz proposals everyday of my life.

My wife always asks me eveyday now, how much did you earn today? like at 10am in the morning.

There was a time i believed 100% i wasn't going to make it, until i realised the internet is big enough for 7 billion people to find their own niche!

All the major wholesale directories consist of over 70% products which are fake

Mp3Mage, your thread title says it all. Back to the drawing board is the best thing to do, if you give up you lose.

Good luck on you future endeavors.

'...Well as you know I am now living in Thailand.

Thais in the main are uneducated. There are a handful that come off monied families and have had a privileged European education in Switzerland, England etc., as I have but the rest, boys or girls, leave school at eight, ten or twelve-years-old to earn money for the family.

This does not mean they are stupid! They are extremely street-wise and would easily con your Grandmother out of her savings or trick a foreign tourist into giving them money.

I have lead a charmed life, although I have always worked a minimum of 16 hours per day, seven days a week, and so do not know what I would be prepared to do if scratching around for a living and so I do not judge these people.

Also, like most of you here, you have high morals albeit a bit tainted around the edges as we are all Black Hatters, but we do not need to resort to serious crime to make a buck or two. Others have no scruples and will do anything blatantly to make money. They are either desperate or greedy.

Personally, I am so acutely aware of scams and have an inbuilt BS-meter I inherited from my deceased Father, who worked for the Government, that I have never been conned and I can smell being set-up as a con-artist's Mark a mile away.

All that said, it is vitally important to exercise added caution when conducting any transaction on the Internet.

There is a pace to these dealings which cannot be hurried without getting scammed.

Take your time and check everything out and remember... 'You cannot scam an honest man'!

You cannot scam an honest man? what is that.... I thought honest people are the ones who get scammed several times, especially by Nigerian Scammers.

tanya7, there has to be something there for the hook to sink in to. The dream of wealth without effort, the worry about having money for the family if one dies, and several others. Both honest and dishonest people get scammed.
Education levels vary, since greed seems to bash smarts to the side to get that money.
