Iam having a site named XYZ.blogspot.com (an imaginative name )

it is hosted in blogger
it will open even if i type as

http://www.xyz.blogspot.com/

or as

http://xyz.blogspot.com/

now i got a few back links for this site

problem is that few back links are for http://www.xyz.blogspot.com/ and few are for http://www.xyz.blogspot.com/.

Now when i check in yahoo back link checker they both show as distinct results ..

what can i do now ?

What will happen to my Back links ?will they get split?

what way should our back links be in general ?

A final Question is ..

should i concentrate on the home pages back link or on individual posts Back links ?

please be clear in your answers.. so that we all can benifit...Thisis my first post so please guide me if i have made a error

what your dealing with is call caninical urls i believe. Its the difference between using www and non www distinctions.

Keep building using only one version of it either xyw.blogspot.com or www.xyz.blogspot.com

all backlinks will still go to your blog. no penalty but you want the seacches to determine which one is the one you want to promote as it ranks as 2 different sites, same content.

as to what they should be in general... it depends on how you promote. My major site is all www, where as my new sites are non www.

last question:

it is bets to build links to both inner and home page pages. I promote my homepage more but do also promote inner at a 80/20% ratio.

any one want to add to this?

Nice reply Raven,

I checked up the Canonical thing and i can read that this is not possible in Blogger but can be done in other web hostings.

Canonical tells the SE that even if a link is as xyz.com it shd be considered as http://www.xyz.com am i correct?

Raven one more question
Any idea how to get a Google back link. I know that its pretty hard but is there any standard procedure to follow for this to happen ?
