Back in the day, pay per click was the 'thing'.
Some Microsoft sites would pay 25 cents a click.
I had a fairly high traffic site.
First it was the banner on the page.
Then it was please click this banner to support the site.
Then it was no banner and just "please click here first".
Was making $1000 a month when I was 16-17 years old.

Another thing, I took a couple days and made a list of online pharmacies for prescription drugs. Sold a membership for $15 per month. Paid $299 to have it listed in Yahoo directory. Next day would be bringing in sales. Never did another thing to it and would make $1000 per month as well. Kicking myself for not putting up 100 sites like that.

On top of that, the American dollar was $1.50 to $1 Canada, so if I made $10,000US, it would be $15,000+ per month.

Just remembering the old times lol.
No point really for this thread.

I don't really follow what is holding you back from doing this or something similar again. What has changed that doesn't enable you to make money with this again? If you've made that much money online before, you surely can do it again.

you should have made sites for long term. Well right now, exact phrase domain names is what is making money so maybe you can get in on the short term action before it gets slapped by google.

Well sites worked long term, they were quality sites, and got some pretty good links and traffic (plus affiliate program). I just neglected them.

As for EMDs, I currently have 200 of them, some ranking pretty well (very low searches per month). But unfortunately, I can see the power of EMDs slowly losing it's value.

Yup. Means we have to work harder now.

I've been getting back into it for the last six+ months. Honestly, I had some depression issues, which intertwined with no motivation. That's the one problem of working for yourself, if you aren't motivated, it's hard to make yourself work. I started an offline business, which failed, I lost a couple hundred thousand dollars, which I made from online stuff. While the offline business failed, I neglected the online business, like 100% neglected, pretty much walked away. I was lucky, the site had a lot of qualty content, and continued to make a lot of money. But after a couple years it slowly decreased, and new competition took over. And another thing, I noticed the competition using blackhat. I noticed paid links, and from my little knowledge on BH, I was assuming they were paying $1000s per month on paid links. But now I know, they really didn't do as much work as I thought.

But yeah, that's my mindset now, if I did it before (even if it was easy), I can do it again. So I'm trying to climb my way back up. I actually have quite a bit of debt still from the offline business.

    Thanks for the replies!
