So I just pitched a new client, a nickelodeon/ Disney celebrity's dad acting as her agent. I pitched them on an ad words campaign to drive traffic to there site to sell her new workout videos that she had recently produced. Well at the end of the pitch the guy starts telling me about how he has a team of people invested already.... blah blah blah, long story short, he has no money to put into this thing and is 25k in debt to his investors.

He told me that if I were to work on the project for free upfront that the investors would pay double on sales of the DVD.

I don't what to do. I don't want to use my own money on selling these DVDs for them. Plus its a workout DVD for kids.

The only thing I see it getting popular from is horny guys, shes like 24 now, and based off the comments I am reading in you tube videos about the workout video, is all directed on how hot she is.

I dont think many kids will really be buying this thing.

On top of that, the DVD is still in hardback case not an iTunes product where the kid can just grab the i pad and download it.

Im asking you guys should I take my time and sell this DVD for this guy, or should I just move on.

Thanks ahead to anyone that helps me out.

Move on, your after money not trying to seek a failed investment gone wrong, if you dont believe in the product, then dont endorse it and save your cash.

Find clients on facebook, make a page designated to an area, and message local business's in the area using data from yell or google places, search for the business on facebook then message them explaining you can help them with their online marketing strategy.

If you're unsure about the arrangement and lack confidence in the product, just move on...trust your gut, or you'll probably end up wishing you had.

Or you may be passing on an opportunity.....

Ask him to send you a copy of the DVD for you to review to see what it will take to promote it. If nothing else, you can get a free copy of the "hot" girl.

Ask him for an endorsement from her for your business and what she is willing to do to promote her DVD's. Chances are, they really need to promote the DVD's. They have a lot invested in the DVD's and her career is probably wrapped up in those DVD's. They may see this as her only shot to cash in.

Ask him if he can get a "letter of intent" from the other investors or a "waiver" meaning they give up rights because they see it's a failed project. Chances are pretty good his "investors" is himself and the mortgage on his home. Once you clear that hurdle, there's some real opportunity, here.

PM me, if you want to take this to the next level.

If you have nothing else on the table, it won't hurt for you to give this a shot and see if perhaps you just won the Lottery. You'll miss 100 of the swings you never take.

I did some simple research and I'm pretty sure I know who the celebrity is. If it's who I think it is, then grafxextreme has some gold advice in leveraging an endorsement from her as she seems to have a strong social media presence and decent enough credibility, and a letter of intent could help prevent you from taking losses.

Even so, make sure you'd be comfortable/capable of taking permanent losses on any money you will need to spend upfront, and above all, trust your gut.
