Hi, thought I would share this with everyone...

Go to ipage.com, and signup for there base package. Enter in all your info, and head to the checkout.

When you get to the checkout, don't checkout just close the page.

They will send you an email saying something like "you were close to finishing your purchase with us but did not complete it. To keep your business we are offering you 3 months of service for just $3. Follow the link below"

    It works!

Lunarpages does this also. Not that cheap, but $60 and $89 off shared hosting.

    $60 is 12 months $108-$60=$48 $4 a month.

    $89 off for 24 months is $168-$89=$79 or $3.25 a month.

I have godaddy now and im thinking of switching to hostgator or ipage. Any opinions on these guys? Also why is ipage so cheap compared to hostgator and godaddy? ....oh and does anyone know if i can signup somehow as an affiliate of a hosting company without actually having hosting, so i can get the commission when i sign up? I'm leaning towards ipage cause they're cheaper and i cant seem to notice any difference for unlimited hosting. Actually ipage offers higher email sends too.

Yes, you get the commission paid even if you are not a customer. They are paying to refer customers. I would suggest to go with ipage.

Register for an Affiliate account under your name and buy hosting through your Affiliate link on someone else's name. You get the hosting for free of cost. In fact they pay you to buy hosting from them... ;)

This is how they steal affiliate commissions BTW. I stopped working with them because of this.

I agree 100%. My first Wordpress blog was on iPage and since they can barely handle static pages, Wordpress was a complete disaster. Their support is also worthless. They just sell a lot of cheap hosting without the infrastructure to handle it.

Hostgator is more expensive but you get what you pay for many times over. The quality of the hosting and support is great. Never had a problem with them.

hostgator is by far better and more stable than ipage. i wouldn't waste my time with ipage again after the trouble i had with them.

Just wanted to update the deal status, I tried it and they still do offer a deal - but they offered me 3 months for $1 totally $3 altogether for my Account until May. I didn't do anything special, just followed the original Posters' instructions and received an email a few hours later offering the special deal.

I Tried this because I needed something short term and cheap, And just wanted to report back my experience.

    Thanks!

Both are good. iPage is a great basic website but HostGator has better long-term growth.

I have both and like them very well.

Well, I will prefer with trunk host unlimited its cheap free support they offer reseller plan and linux shared hosting. currently their site is under construction but you may send them an email for your inquiries.

I have 6 sites hosted with them its working just fine. The administrator is so friendly they can give you discounts as well :)
