I want to make several different accounts on a niche forum I want to market to. Can I use a free plugin like Hola VPN and just get a new US IP each time, or will some forum software notice that? I'm worried about detection and I don't want to look suspicious (logging in each day from a completely different IP from a VPN) but I also don't want to buy proxies.

There are a lot of aspects. You need to worry about cookies, webRTC, and sometimes even MAC Address

Is there one tool, or one technique, or one tutorial that would be helpful?

It's fairly easy. Search up how to change your MAC Address on google as it depends on your OS. Use firefox with cookie destructor and webRTC disabler (extensions)

Most forum engines track only IP and cookies. So as long as you clear cookies and change IP between accessing a forum from different accounts, you will be fine.

If you want some additional convenience (also security and peace of mind), download a free version of Multiloginapp. You can either obtain proxies and access a forum with multiple different profiles at once or you can use VPN solutions like Hola and switch IP addresses along with browser sessions. E.g. close browser session A, disconnect from VPN server A, connect to VPN server B, launch browser session B.

Besides that, I would recommend refraining from using Hola. It will turn your PC into a VPN gateway and possibly route nefarious traffic from your machine. This may get you banned in social networks and other services if they happen to be abused from your machine. Even using shared proxies would be a better solution (but less stable). The best option to go with is a few private proxy servers. You can reutilize the same proxy for accessing multiple forums, e.g. 5 profiles on forum A, 5 profiles on forum B and so on.
