I know this is a broad question, but
what are your expectations for TAT for 500 word articles and small
    micro niche sites?

I purchased a few in the marketplace a few weeks back and
I have yet to see any results.

I was thinking maybe they are swamped with orders but I am not certain.

Why don't you just contact each seller and find out what the holdup is? It could very well be that they are swamped with orders. However I would question why they didn't tell you the TAT would be longer than expected, like any professional person would.

Sticking to TAT is always very important. I'm a content writer (on a break rn) and for a 500 word article if I was free when I accepted it I usually gave a TAT of about 2-3 hours. However, I guess 1-4 days is okayish for 1k+ words. If someone has not completed delivery by the promised TAT, you have all the right to argue for a refund. You paid for a service to be delivered in that particular time frame. It's unprofessional and they should just mention that TAT is going to be long while also listing why it's such a long TAT. If your content is time sensitive as it usually is, what do you do? Do you wait 1 week after the promised TAT? You lose more than you would make in that case and if you were just informed about it you could've looked elsewhere. Ask them. It's that simple. Time is money.
