Automatic Translate a Website with TranslatePress or GTranslate

Hi,

I have a site in french language and I would love to translate it in English (and maybe others languages) using an automatic plugin.

I liked two options :
TranslatePress + DeepL integration, which seems to be robust and quality translation
GTranslate (which seems to use Google API)

Both of them offers URL translations, subdirectories, etc...

Have anyone ever tested to translate his website in another language automatically ?
What are the impact on SEO ? Is it OK to translate then optimize content that needs to ?

I really want to do this, but I need some of your advices !

Yeah, I hope he can give his insights on it. And I do totally agree : DeepL is rocking it !
I am really eager to test it out and see how much ROI I can get from translating my niche website.

I get ROI within a few months on a white hat site in M3diavine. Deepl is not cheap. I'm using the API.

I wouldn't use it on a black hat site with 100k articles for sure. Only cheery picked pages that rank.

Okay I see. My website is White Hat and got only quality content in French. I would love to get English based trafic from USA, etc... To apply to mediavine in the future and by the way to see higher RPM/EPMV from Ads. Yes, in France, they're really low. I am using Ezoic at the moment.

I posted about 120 articles (with an average of 1100 words each I guess, this is completely an estimation) at the moment, and all would be translated by DeepL API.
I calculated that TranslatePress (159€/year) + DeepL API (5€/month) would be 219€/year. By the way, I don't know how to estimate the price based on API consumption. Is it really expensive ?

So in your point of view, it would be interesting to translate it and get those pages indexed by Google and ranked by the time ?
I will probably hand-translate and fix some parts of the best articles to get them a better chance of ranking.
By the way, I am willing to use "GeniusLink" to redirect people to the right Amazon store based on their location to get a maximum ROI out of the translation + a CDN for performance.

You get about 60 articles 1,000-1,400 words from their free API credits/month.
If that's enough, you don't need to pay more.

If you exceed, price boils down to approximately $22 / 80 articles.
