DOn't know what went wrong, but i just can't start my computer. Searched google as well, but they say that i need to install bootit NG, but that didn't help either.

Any technical people here who have dealt with this before ?

Basically it's either corrupt or missing. Try downloading a Linux live disk (whatever linux flavor suits your fancy), run it, and try accessing the Windows files system from there. Assuming you're able too (I've never had issues with repairing a Windows installation from Linux), get a hold of the file it claims you're missing, either from a Windows disk or online and place it where it should go.

Note: If you're using a Linux live disk, you would have to have another disk drive, a usb drive, or some other hardware in order to transfer the file.

Another Note: Maybe you should just install Linux and forget about Winblows. :)

Drivers? LOL. You aren't actually installing Linux with the Live disk unless you decide to. It's running off the dvd/cd drive. Try something small.....maybe Knoppix. Here's a guide:

BTW: I just want to back up the data, like 4-5 gb of e-books and softwares lolz. So all i do is boot from the cd, then copy data onto pendrive or something right ?

We won't be needing any other software right ?

Sounds like a good plan to me. No, you shouldn't need any extra software.
