    Hey guys,

I found a handful of .edu sites which auto approve your comment. PR ranges from 5 - 8. I was wondering if it helps my SEO if I post my link with KW as name in an old post of the .edu site, like 2010. I realize it has to be recrawled, how would I get G to crawl the link? And what are the backlinks worth to my SEO anyways?

    Thanks in advance.

EDIT: What would happen if I post a couple dozen or so comments to one single blog post? Different anchor and URL..

Sounds like a plan to me. To help speed up the spiders ping the link.

Care to share the .edu with me ?

I don't plan to do this in the near future.

If you can find less than 100 outgoing links / pro Edu url , it can help your page rank and SERP increase..But i didnt see any auto approved edu url less than 1000+ comments under it :) Which obviously doesnt help.

Thanks for your reply. There aren't many comments on any of the url's. 3 at the most. Do you know if it matters if the blog post is old (2010 for example)?

And what would theoretically happen if I were to spam the sh*t out of one url?

It is better if the post is older , in page /site value always old pages are more valuable than new ones.but as you also said maybe recrawling of that old page can be an isue , you should ping this posts till your links are also shown (by BL checkers) , but over pinging is also not good. ping / 24 h is good ..I am sure even without ping your Backlinks will be live / indexed shortly after because of the quality of the domain..(I mean edu).

What you mean with "one URL" do you want to create all Backlinks to the same domain of you with different anchor texts?.

If this is the case , of course it helps to rank your site more visible in SERP with those anchor texts as KWs but all of your Back links will be from the same domain/ page / url / Ip so their effect will be neglectable , and you can take attention of the admin. I wouldnt recommend it.Just post one comment to each edu url with different KWs as anchor text..It is more natural seen and I think helps more..

Thank you again, I really appreciate your help.
With "one url" I meant one .edu url and to spam it with links to my sites. But you cleared that up too ;)

The backlinks from that page would end up losing almost all value.
A big factor for the value of a link is how many links there are on a page.
1000 links = practically no value

I would recommend keeping it to under 10 per URL, but that's just my opinion.
