    Hi,

Didn't know where to post this so mods can move it if they want.

I am building an authority site in a fairly competitive niche and was wondering if any of you have had any experience building a site that targets heaps of similiar related keywords?

After a lot of keyword research I have found a lot of keywords to target. A lot of them are "how to" keywords and the problem I see is that a lot of them are very similiar to each other.

    These are just a few:

    How to train your dog
How to train the dog quickly
    Train a dog fast
    Train some dogs quick
    Train the dogs quickly
How to train the dogs fast
    Educate your animal fast
How to educate a dog quickly
    How to teach dogs fast
    How to educate dogs faster

    etc etc.

What I'm thinking is that it might look very spammy if I target all of these keyword phrases, and there are heaps more (I'm trying to Imagine the sidebar containg all these articles which pretty much states the same thing). A lot of them covers the exact same topic, but is simply another phrase of the keyword. And there are only so many keywords I can target for each page..

What's your experience? Does this work? I want to target all the keywords I found at the same time as I want to provide a good user experience for my viewers.

    Thanks guys!

Hi, this is my opinion of an authority site. If training your dog is your niche. You don't have to target the exact same keywords all the time, just add related content with targeted keywords.

Why do I say that? Well, you should be ranking individual pages with the the keywords instead of the whole site alone, I am sure that the competition would be quite high alone. Think of all the other keywords as sub-niches.

    So here's an example,

    obedience training for your dog
simple tricks to teach your dog
    train your dog online
    etc.
