I have an aged auction domain that used to have many inner pages with backlinks.

I have many of these backlinked pages redirected to the homepage.

I am thinking it may be a good idea to kill all of these redirects as it will make it look more natural. Can these redirecting old pages do any harm at all?

Also if I kill these redirects will the domain keep some of the link juice even though the old pages are no longer active?

Full on "everything to homepage" redirect will completely reduce the power of the backlinks pointing to inner pages. Redirects should be as relevant as possible.

And no, if you kill those redirects, the backlinks pointing to dead pages will not be counted.

Redirect to pages with identical or as close as possible URL structure as expired ones and add content. You can then use these pages to link to others within your site.

I only have 40 redirects pointing at the homepage.

I think I'm just going to kill them and forget all about redirects.
