    Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone can give me advice on how to bring new user registrations to a forum?

I have a forum I have opened based on cosmetic surgery.

It's actually not a money maker or anything like that. More of a community forum I want to build that may rely on income by advertisers (ie, cosmetic surgeons).

but I guess I am just a little confused about how these forums start out?

    how do people find them?

what do i need to do to get people to find it and register?

any information and advice would be appreciated. black hat or white hat - as long as it brings me people interested in cosmetic surgery :)

The first step is generating content, people won't sign to an empty forum.
In my experience if you can post popular questions and give a good answers to it you can promote it in blogs, other forums and search engines.

First you will need content even if it is a duplicate one...nobody will stay on a an empty forum and offcourse you need also some quality content and do some SEO for your main keywords like: cosmetic surgery forum, cosmetic surgery success....

Getting real members is very dificult, and keeping them in the forum is harder.

    Good luck

Deffinatly you need to create some content/posts I would recomend researching what questions and information your forum users would be most interested in and writing posts around these, then get some direct ) in-bound links (and indirect inbound links via web 2.0 properites to these forum pages.

I would also recomend promoting these forums posts via facebook.
