    Define making money.

You can take on a paper route when you're 12 and drive around the neighbourhood with your cool new bike, but I'm guessing you mean when they first get employed full-time. That would be about the time they get out of college, maybe a year or two later if the times are tough like they usually seem to be.

I started making more than either of my parents by 18 years old. Just by fixing and selling guitars and computers.

Varies from person to person. I know kids that had lawn mowing businesses making them $400-500 a week at age 14 and I know people 24-25 that still "go to school" and have their parents pay for every aspect of their life.

If you're referring to making a living, then after college would be the most appropriate answer. But as far as "making money", I think you can get a job with a work permit when you're 16 in the US.

I think usually it's around 16-18 range. Sometimes more when they go to college or whatever
