I have a 3 year old Youtube channel with 110k subscribers, grown organically. I post bi weekly and receive approximately 20k views per video after the first week. The problem is that I see other youtubers with 10k subscribers and 500- 1000 views a video earning $1000 - $2000 per month, yet I am estimated to earn between $100 - $200.

I understand that my niche does not have a high CPC in adwords, compared to these other channels but I don't think there is anyway I can restructure my videos to fit higher priced keywords.

My question is how do I best monetize my audience because adsense is clearly not working, merch will likely be my next step. I have started looking into affiliate marketing and CPA and registered with the likes of Peerfly and Max Bounty, but cannot see how I could integrate these offers with my audience.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

You need approximately 600k - 700k views to earn $1k with adsense depends on niche obviously...You need to check their stats with VIDIQ if they aren’t getting that much views then they are probably lying to you...

You want to earn more right ?
Go with Affiliate market sell niche related products.. or make your own website and earn more commission.. upload more videos if you want to increase your earning with Adsense.. 20k views are very low.. I saw one account getting 400k to 500k views each video in your niche..

You need to first focus on your content try to get more views by copying your competitors.. specially check theirs Thumbnails, Title and Tags..

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I probably should have been more clear. The channel which I saw making a lot more wasn't in this niche. It's just frustrating with the effort being made towards my videos and the seemingly lack thereof in other videos which are viewed less and earning significantly more. Sour grapes ha ha

Regarding affiliate niche products, I could perhaps go into relaxation but beyond that it's quite a closed niche. I will look into your other suggestions thanks.

A 3 year old channel with 110K subscribers that is getting 20K views per video is reasonable. I'd say the best suggestion that someone could make would be for you to start uploading more frequently. Dedicated ASMR listeners will come back for new content every night so building momentum, especially starting at your 20K views / video; will be relatively easy in my opinion. If you can, try to upload every 2-3 days and schedule your uploads (consistency is good).

As for monetization, ASMR keywords probably come with an average CPM. I wouldn't focus your efforts on keywords as the return on time will be limited. Monetize with Adsense as usual and upload 10+ minute videos (turn on midrolls as well), then focus on external monetization.

I think you might want to try ecommerce (dropshipping). Your merch idea is okay, but it depends on the kind of viewers you have. If they are hardcore fans of yours they might buy but if your viewers aren't specifically dedicated, you'd probably make more money selling ASMR earphones like these guys do: https://vosone.com/pages/asmr40

The first model Vosone stocks is sold for $32.95 USD, and the second model is sold for $54.95 USD, plus shipping and handling. Their markup is insane, you can buy the except same earphones from China on Aliexpress for $4.21 USD and $7.65 USD respectively including delivery (1: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Ori...-Headphones-High-Quality-Ear/32735828834.html and 2: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Lan...reo-Hifi-Headset-Earbuds-for/32878859661.html). At that pricing the product ships through e-packet which should take 2-4 weeks for delivery.

If you don't want the hassle of having to handle order fulfilment whether dropshipping asmr tech or merch, there are a few other opportunities you can consider. For one, you could write a review on the 3/5/10/etc. best earphones for asmr listening and publish to your website (which you can throw together yourself with a blogging platform like WordPress or Ghost), then link to each product you 'reviewed' on Amazon as an affiliate; you'll get a commission from everyone who clicks a link and orders from Amazon (Amazon affiliate works best if your viewers are predominately USA based) - promote the website article at the top of each video description and as a channel link and do nothing more. Another option is to reach out to sites that sell asmr products and pitch your channel as a sponsorship opportunity; you could promote their website/products in video or just in the description and a pinned comment for a fixed rate per video, or as an affiliate.

Summary: (a) Upload more frequently (b) Upload 10+ minute videos and turn on midroll ads (c) Monetize the channel externally by dropshipping asmr earphones or merchandise, promoting Amazon products as an affiliate, or finding a video/channel sponsor to promote their products for a fee.

Good luck with the channel! :)
