Hi, Currently, I’m running a shopping agent service Startup, headquarters in London and our main souring & fulfillment is done in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

We mainly buy Apparel for International end uses mainly based in USA, UK & Canada, they pay us in advance though International Payment Gateway and after buying their ordered clothing’s we send them the original clothing pictures /videos, if they liked it we ship the haul through international courier service. If They don’t like the products we made the refund into their wallet, so they may re-order until they are satisfied, otherwise, they may get a full refund ( excluding the Payment gateway fees).

The main advantage to using our service is the end user can buy their desirable clothing from Bangladesh, at a local price just setting on their house in the USA. Another advantage of using our service is we are 30-40% cheap compared to Chinese shopping agents.

Recently I ( 28th June 2022) lost my father, since the last few years we have been giving him 40+ prescription medicine each day to make his life, however, he just leaves us alone, hope his soul would rest in peace.

Each day he used to take 1000 Taka ( USD$12) worth of high-quality medicine mostly made in Bangladesh. A few days back I try to Google some of these medications and become quite astonished in terms of the price difference of medicine between Bangladesh & USA.

As a matter of fact, some USA median prices are quite high as 3000% times.

So, I have made a thorough research on this topic and found some interesting facts :

Bangladesh:

- Bangladesh is the only least developed country (LDC) in the world who do produce world-class medicine.

- Since it does have an LDC tag, so Bangladesh does not have to pay any license or royalty fees to any world-class pharma manufacturers, i.e if Pfizer spends a billion dollar in R&D to produce a blockbuster Cancer medicine, take a monopoly for 20 years, and generate USD $20 Billion.

As per patent rights, no other Pharma company in the world would ( other than the least developed country) have the right to reproduce the same medicine until 20 years expire. That gave the Pfizer, Astra type Pharma Company to make a monopoly in the market and charge whatever they want from the patients.

- By taking this advantage Bangladeshi pharma industry become a multibillion-dollar industry

- Almost 10+ Pharma Company has world-class facility & some of them are UFDA-certified drug manufacturers.

USA:

- Most USA Pharma company charges as high as 3000% times per medicine, per dose. , comparable to Bangladesh

- US gov doesn’t provide any free health care facility so, millions of Americans are unable to continue their regular medicine bills.

- Some insurers are lucky enough to get free generic medicine coverage, however, when it’s time to get blockbuster medicine, that’s not converged by insurance coverage.

- Some of the USA citizens get bankrupt because they were unable to pay the dues of medicine bills.

- As per UFDA rules: any person residing on US soil can import prescription medicine worth of 90 days for his /her personal consumption along with a valid doctor's prescription.

So here’s my plan :

- Select 300-350 high-frequency medicine names & details along with doses and potency from some reputed USA websites.

- Find out the same group ( generic ) of medicines in Bangladesh.

- Select the top 6-7 pharma Manufacturers with stringent QC reputations along with UFDA-approved manufacturing facilities.

- Put those medicine on our website with all necessary information and compatible brand/generic names.

- Put some marketing effort into social media about how to save their medicine cost etc.

- When someone patient visits our site we will ask them to upload their existing prescription.

- Next, we will consult with our appointed /affiliate doctor in Bangladesh to look on the Patient's existing prescription and make another prescription comparable to Bangladeshi medicine, if necessary we may arrange a free video consultation session with a local physician in order to understand the patient's requirements,

- When this part has been done, we will send the new prescription to the USA Patient, then he will make the order from the new prospection or if he wants we may order on behalf of him or her, during the time of his order he must make the payment along with shipping cost.

- After placing the order we will purchase those medicine from a local Pharmacy chain shop at a retail price ( since the high product variation we may not able to purchase them at wholesale price).

- When the purchase part is done, we will ship through DHL/UPS along with the invoice & prescription.

- We will charge a 7-10% service charge on invoice value.

Appreciate your views or experience so I may or may not go for this venture.

Super sketchy, super dangerous. Not the kind of venture I would begin to pursue with advice from BlackHatWorld, but rather through consultation with a lawyer who understands the topic. If you aren't willing to spend money now, I am concerned about your willingness to spend money later, which doesn't sound good for consumers. I would never get involved in it because I personally would not be able to guarantee the product. I am relying on the manufacturer to not want to cut costs that could end up killing people.

Hello,

That was quite an information about the Bangladesh pharma market. I have been into pharma exports business past several years, major drawback you would face for the medicines would be the degraded quality of the generic segment. Recently, the company Incepta (Approved Bangladeshi company) started manufacturing the OZEMPIC pen generic subsitute called FITARO. While there were no license and patent for the product. You can select some meds from bangladesh but majority you have to look for Indian market (Biggest for generic). Let me know, can help you a bit further on the same. Thanks
