I inherited many Adsense style sites from a friend who is no longer interested in IM
-he's got to take care of his family bussiness.

How do I tell among more than 50 sites which ones are giving money and which ones are not?
My idea is to keep the good ones and not to renew the domains of the failures.
What is the most functional workflow to do that?

    Thank you

Set up an individual adsense channel for each site, then you can see which sites are performing.

If you have access to adsense or similar ad platform, you can first check the income levels yourself. If that is not available, you should get traffic details from hosting cpanel. You should keep good niche sites with viable income/traffic.

You can also go for free website valuation tools like websiteoutlook.com

Setup the URL channels in Adsense and after a month or so you'll see which website brings in money... There is no need to change code on your websites.

P.s.: You get 50 adsense websites for free? You lucky bustard :D

How do I set up all the channels?

Which would you consider the least amount after 1 year to tell if it is convenient to renew or not?

Just search in Google for "Google adsense channel" and you will find tons of information related to it... It's very easy once you setup channels...

Every domain will cost you 10 bucks every year so any domains which is making 1 buck and more every month you can carry them... Off-course it's not very good but still in profit... Then pick your best earners and start working on them... Should be making good money very soon...
