Use alexa or find out if they are useing extreme tracking... Extreme tracking gives you the keyword and how many visits per day!

Then i suppose the ones know about this traffic number would be them

I want to know how many traffic a specific site is getting within a month. And this is not my website.

    Is this possible?
Is there any online tool we can use to find this out?

You can try to find out what keywords they are ranking for, that might help give you a better idea of how well placed they are in the search engines. You could do that with a tool like competition dominator.

    ALEXA?

on what earth have you been living for the last years?

Man, there are enough traffic spoofing tools out there, some are offered for free free download here on BHW where you can fake your traffic numbers with alexa big time!

Quantcast has been pretty accurate lately. I think they sniff routers on the backbone or something.

compete dot com is nice for quick analytics, especially if you are comparing traffic between 2-3 sites.

    yes, Quantcast is great!

and yes, they provide data for every country. the only thing is, the data provided, becomes accurate after the traffic to a specific site is greater then 2000 UVs

Oh get real! There is no accurate way of finding out how much traffic your competitor gets. You will be lucky to find an accurate way to measure your own traffic.

Can we submit our site to quantcast or they crawl our site automatically?

I think the data is more accurate if you submit.

yea thats a very good point. and very true as well..

The :amount: of traffic that a website gets is almost completely irrelevant to anything else, for the most part anyways.

My next question to eager would be WHY do you want to know how much traffic a certain website gets?

, Then I think we can be of MORE assistance to you...

Does the amount of traffic a website get have a serious effect on its Google SERPS position. In other words, would it be an idea to fake Alexa rankings to see an improvement in some sort of Google ranking or positioining? I would think not, because it would be too easy to game.

No, but it does help to have a quick server. I have not tested this theory myself but a bunch of famous webmasters swear by it.
