Hello BHW, how are you guys? Hope that everyone is good.

I am relatively new to the whole art thing, but I discovered that this is the only thing that keeps me sane through the college ( computer science yuhu ).

I am currently working on 3 projects but while designing the last one, I got hit by the fact that I have no idea how to sell my art..

Only 2 things came into my mind:

    1. Start my own website

    Pros:
    - can link to facebook, twitter etc
    - can update frequently and have full control

    Cons:
    - no idea how to drive traffic to a site with almost no text on it and with virtually no audience ( regarding facebook, twitter etc )
    - no idea how do to SEO on a basically empty site

    2. Upload to Etsy

    Pros:
    - people already are on etsy

    Cons:
    - no idea how to make them look at my stuff when there are so much more out there

    But the real question is:

Do you guys know of any other platforms where I can promote my art?

Thanks a lot for reading and have a great day!

Deviantart would be the obvious one. http://www.deviantart.com/

theres lots of art subreddits at reddit such as r/art, r/drawing etc

Start your own website anyway. Register your own name even if you are going to with a brand it will be handy for an artist to own his own persona.

Behance in also a good source to promote your art and increase your followers that may convert into clients.
Tumblr is also a good platform to gain traffic and followers and they can easily get on trending list and radars.
